Hi Pilot 124

Is it still systematically crashing?

Could you provide some more detail :
- Which version of FIF are you using
- Which version of Android are you running
- What is the available RAM of your handset
- How much free storage space is available
- Are you storing FIF data on internal device memory, or are you using an SDcard (personally I avoid this, as its a potential source of crash)
- …

More detail you provide, better it is

Thanks and have safe flights

Cordialement.

Jean-Pierre.

Good afternoon,

After updating FIF from version 21.20 to version 21.23, FIF crashes within 3 to 5 seconds at start up.
It shows "Unfortunately, FLY is FUN has stopped. [OK] [Report]". The Map Zoom can be seen at 15 NM.
I have been using FIF since 2015 in the same tablet without any problem. The only app downloaded and
ran in the tablet is FIF.

System Information
Tablet Brand: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
Model: SGH-I957
RAM: 1 Gb
Internal Memory: 16 Gb (10.2 Gb free)
OS: Android version 4.0.4
Baseband version: I957UCLK4
Kernel version: 3.0.8-1167230
Build number: IMM76D.UCLK4

Crash Information
Exception class name: java.lang.StackOverflowError
Source file: ShapeTools.java
Source class: gps.ils.vor.glasscockpit.ShapeTools
Source method: TestEar
Line number: 119
Sentence: at gps.ils.vor.glasscockpit.ShapeTools.TestEar(ShapeTools.java:119)

Stack trace shows a stack overflow error maybe due to recursive calling while processing Airspaces.
Before the sentence that causes the stack overflow error, the stack trace shows the following
sentence repeated more than 200 times:
at gps.ils.vor.glasscockpit.ShapeTools.Tessellate(ShapeTools.java:171)

Thanks and blue skies

It's exactly the same on my device. No problems at all until updating from version 21.20 to 21.23.

Please check the code if there is an endless loop caused by recursion that is responsable for the stack overflow.

Thank you.

Hi Petr and everybody ;)

On map screen, a long tap on the compas (screen customizing), in "Airspaces" in each zoom, if I uncheck "Controlled airspace D", FIF doesn't stop when I move the map.....
Since the last update of FIF, it seems that this airspace D makes FIF Off on some devices (on my Nexus 7 LTE, but not on my other Nexus 7 Wifi)

Best regards.

Hi Viking,
Thank you for the fix. I tried it and it worked well.

Just FYI.
No crash observed on my MiMax when zooming or moving the map.
I have version 21.23 and airspace D is checked for display.

Same to me and my device. Now it works fine again. But this workaround isn't practicable under praxis conditions but it is a good hint to the developper where and what to fix.

Still waiting for a fixed version to update with.
