No menu on Oneplus 2 / OxygenOS

This phone and OS has no on screen buttons (although they can be turned on from settings, but that wastes screen space and nobody does), the buttons are below the screen.
That means there is no way to access Fly is Fun menu as there is no menu access button.
What other apps like games do is when you swipe from phone to screen the software menu buttons appear as a layer, but that is not the case for Fly is Fun.
That renders is unusable.
Any suggestions?

Did you try to shortly tap the compass rose (away from its centre) ?

Even after years of using and loving Fly is Fun, I would have never discovered that myself.
