FIS areas

Troubles with application

FIS areas

Postby majed » 06 Sep 2015, 11:05

I don't have FIS areas displayed on my maps views. Is it a problem in my software settings or just feature not included yet?

What are you calling FIS area ?

If you mean reporting points, airspace, airports, …. and if nothing appear on the map, this could be du to the setting, due to the fact navigation items / data you are looking for are not yet loaded

Could you should check if navigation items / data concerning the country you are considering are loaded.

To do it
- When starting the application
Select “Navigation database” on the disclaimer screen
(even if its written in green Navigation database found)
or
- from the application
select “Menu” and then “Downloads” and then “Nav database”

Being in the Nav database windows, make sure that the country for which you need navigation items / data are selected, then launch the database upgrade.

FIS = flight information service, this is sector/area with assigned radio frequency. It is common for VFR flights to use this for communication outside your ATZ or CTR, at least here in Poland.
I have my navigation database updated, I tried to check all FiF options (there are a lot of them ;-) and still could't find what I'm looking for
It would be great to have FIS borders displayed on the FiF map (optionally) like other zones (TMA, TRA, CTR, ATZ,...) with assignable frequences.
So once again, is the feature provided in FiF?
