Importing KML file doesn't add route

Postby Laotse » 04 Feb 2014, 05:27

Dear all,

I am not sure what happened, but I have the following problem. (Earlier this process worked)
When creating a route I like to use external software, to allow a more precise planning than my 7 inch Nexus tablet allows me to do, where FiF is installed.

I create a path in Google-Earth and safe it as .kml file. When I try to import it to FiF, it states "0 routes imported". That's it.
What I am doing wrong? Am I missing something here? When I create a short path with low amount of waypoints it seems to work. But with longer routes (higher amount of waypoints) I am stuck)

I would like to attach a sample .KML file, but the system here doesn't allow me to do so.

Cheers,
Laotse

P.S.: using
Google Earth
7.0.1.8244 (beta)
on a 64bit Linux machine

Dear Petr,

as I cannot upload here, I put the .kml file on a webspace.
I can load it normally in Google Earth, Global Mapper, whatsoever... but cannot import it into FiF. Can you have a look please?
I do not know what the problem is, but maybe I did something wrong?

Validation of this route is not successful. There are WPTSs too close to each other (less than 0.5 nm)

Good to know... ;-)
Might be senseful to be mentioned in the manual.

Thank you very much!
