We are in contact with Eurocontrol, talking about the price. At this moment is too high.

Hi Peter,

i bring this matter up again just to give you a feedback from my experience. I am a big fan of FIF and i Always reccommend it to any pilot i know that asks for advice, and the one thing that ALWAYS comes up is that unfortunately FIF doesn't show notams and restrictions in real time, like Skydemon for istance is doing.
This is not a minor thing but a very big one for Flying in Europe as there are many temporary restrictions all the time and there are big problems if we violate them.
I know there are some sites that offer a visual map of current notams, such as this:

https://notaminfo.com/italymap

maybe info can be taken from it, or is possible to ask them where they source the info.
I am sure this is a major thing and probably the biggest step FIF as yet to make to become a full and almost perfect software for avitation. it's really much better than the competition and is a shame this big thing is holding him down.
just my opinion anyway.

can you give us an update if live notams will be added soon?

Emilio

Personally, I rather use the tools provided by the ANSP (e.g. Belgocontrol) to check NOTAMS when preparing a flight.

However, I appreciate flight apps delivering a "flight file" that can include NOTAMs, METARs, TAF
There are many sources on the web to get this data through queries.
Access to the EAD database is not required for this.

However, showing the active area in real time on the map during the flight is another story :

1- NOTAMs can contain ad hoc areas defined as series of latitude/longitude points, circles and even references to rivers or country boundaries !

2- Sometimes, the NOTAM text says that it concerns an existing area with extended radius (e.g. 30NM instead of 15NM circle).

3- A pre-warning would be required; otherwise you would suddenly realise that the area you are in has become active.

I heard from users that even Skydemon has difficulties to properly display active areas in cases 1-2, but it does indeed a good job in other cases.

There are many sources at national and international level.
Usually, they display NOTAMs related to a given area or route or country; here are several examples.

- (General) https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/PilotWeb/
- (France) http://notamweb.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/
- (Belgium) https://www.belgocontrol.be/fr/oper-preflight-briefing

Personally, I get NOTAMs every day via Email from a (free) subscription to :

The question is the format: not easy to analyse and reformat for an app.

Interesting site indeed, Tonio.
I had a quick look on the possibilities:
(-) The API access is only free for 100 queries/month
(+) The query made through this site can return the results in csv format, thereby facilitating the use in an application.

Example: https://v4p4sz5ijk.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/anbdata/states/notams/notams-list?format=csv&api_key=YOURAPIKEY&locations=ebbu
should return all EBBU (FIR BRUSSELS) NOTAMs in csv format, provided that you have an api_key; otherwise, it just sends some data, apparently ignoring the "location" selection.
To be further investigated.

I found another interesting site: https://www.notams.faa.gov/dinsQueryWeb/
(+) Free
(-) Query is interactive (form to be filled), not through url parameters
