Height in vertical cut

Postby Holton181 » 28 Jan 2017, 14:35

Hi,

First, congratulations on the new menu layout. Looking good!

Also I like the ability to change the vertical cut zoom level. But not that it automatically changes the vertical height setting when cut zoom is changed. Especially the minimum height.
I fly helicopters and like to have the vertical cut height at approximately 7000ft to 8000ft (or less) regardless of the zoom level.

Would it be possible to make the vertical cut height setting independent of the vertical cut zoom level?
Preferably by setting the height as a number and not as a slider.

Thanks!

Hi,
You can do this at this time:

- Open screen customize (at desired screen long tap the compass rose or Menu / App settings / Customize screen.
- Below button "Airspace color" you can setup height of the vertical cut.
- Bellow it is button - Max. vertical cut zoom, set it to lower zoom.

Yes I know.
But the min height is somehow related to the zoom. If I have zoom 10nm, min height is around 12000ft, no lower. Having zoom 6nm I can go down to 7000ft.
0.25nm gives 350ft.
25nm gives 27000ft.
And so on.

I would like the height to be independent from zoom, allow me to have say 350ft at zoom 25nm, to give the extremes. Also to sett the height as a discrete number, not a slider.

Thanks

An additional behavior reques:
Make the height scale automatically adopt to the highest elevation along the zoomed range. Might be a little bit annoying with the scale changing all the time if frequently changing course though.
Alternatively, make the scale automatically adopt to the highest elevation on a planed route/leg.

At this time, distance and height is in scale. I will think about it...

i wish a setup with:
Max horizontal cut zoom level: (for exemple 15 NM..)
Max vertical cut zoom level: (for exemple 5000 ft..)

In high zoom out mode, is not important to mantain the proportionality between horizontal and vertical.
Its not helpful to have 45000ft vertical cut, just to now if the climbing rate enough for walk over the next mountain in 12 NM distance.

Thanks Petr, glad to see that regular updates are back like good old times.
If the annual fee was what was required for you to pick up again on FIF, then glad i paid it!
