Rain Radar overlay not working

No data display on map for Rain Radar. RRA indicator does not start the usual counting. RainViewer app works fine outside FiF.

It is possibly a change in RainViewer API as RV is phasing-out several API resources by jan/fev 2026.

The following alternative sources may deserve a closer look for global coverage APIs: OpenWeatherMap, Rainbow Weather, Tomorrow.io.

Hi flyyyer,

I got the radar rain overlay down to 15 NM arc zoom. Have no overlay display for smaller scales.
I have "rainbow low res" LUT selected in application settings, customize screen.

Although I'm a early and proficient user I'm still stuck on this.
I go to application settings/customise screen then all I get is the screen to the radar application. I'm not sure how to find what you are saying to do.... Thanks for your help.

Hi Peter,

I am not sure that changing the Color scheme (LUT) will make a difference for all android versions and/or hardware.

In my case (android 11 and 16) it was somewhat helpful - got the overlay down to 25 and 15 NM arc zooming. Still may be tricky because no weather is displayed in higher zoom levels (10, 6, 4 ...).

The Color scheme setting is below the toggle "Show rainfall radar" and just above the "Opacity" ruler setting.

I set the colour scheme to "original low res" and this allowed rain radar to zoom down to the 15nm level which is better. If you see my other post on "Zoom level not supported" then I understand now that this is all related to this subject. I.e. this message appears when the rain overlay zoom level is not supported. I get this message overlaid all over the map (somewhat ruining the experience) but now at least not until down past the 15nm level. The overlay message warning is not displayed if you turn off the rainfall radar. (but I don't want to do that)
