First let me congratulate you on a superb application.

I am new to FIF and have explored the application in depth but note that the Terrain map is limited 4nm range. is it possible to extend the range to, say, 10nm?

Best regards

Yes, it would be nice. However, I foresee memory limitations dealing with a huge terrain mesh in larger areas.

One possibility is to prepare alternate lower resolution grids for 10 and 20 nm and use them instead of the fully sampled terrain db.

Another way around may be simply undersample the grid by reading only one pixel value every 9, 25 or 49 points in the original mesh.

Lets see what Petr thinks about it,

best,

Marcos

Yes - Marcos solution is good - preprare low resolution data.
I am planning to play with terrain - displaying vertical situation. This will be a good time to extend the range.

But now I am connection FIF to external Bluetooth GPS...
