Mock GPS stopped working - Android 8.0 with fsx2android 1.4

I'm not sure if it is a Google Play update, an update to fsx2android or an update to the Android software version I am using, but fsx2android recently stopped working with both my phone and my tablet. Server still connects to FSX, I have fsx2android on my phone/tablet and connected and sending/receiving data. Mock GPS is enabled for fsx2android. This is all the same as was working before. Now, the location constantly remains the same - will not update to match FSX.

Can someone please provide insight into what has happened and how to fix it?

I am having the exact same problem! will someone just reply fffs!!!!!! why would an update make an app perform worse than the state in which it was? useless update! non-existent support!

DITTO! No position shows on FIF.
Checked everything and double checked.
Please sort it out. Your clients and fans are depending on you for this.
Usually a reliable and hassle free program.
A prompt response would be great.

I see that MGRS coordinates to raw flight data was added in he update. wondering if this is causing the issue.
I would just as soon use the older version and have FSX2Android working.
Is it possible to role back an update or for FunAir to provide the older version for reinstallation?

Hey Dizz,

i am not counting on a reply soon as i see that the last time that the admin checked logged onto this forum was in November. Maybe we can figure out something ourselves instead of just sitting and waiting for help that may not be imminent!

As far as rolling back is concerned, i have looked up other sources to try and see if there is an fsx2android version 1.3( previous version before this latest update) somewhere.
Unfortunately, the best i could find was the version 1.0 of this program. After installation, it reverts back to the fsx2android v1.4 version. So this is not of any significant help.

i see that you wrote about MGRS coordinates to flight data. Could you let me know where you see this information. Is it on the server or the client( installed on the android device).

I have also looked up a newer version of the server to see if the new update for the client must be synced with an update for the server. But that is not the case! there does not seem to be any changes to the fsx2android server!

further, i have changed my phone which had an android 7.0 OS to a new one with android 8.0 OS but the problem still persists!

To add to that, i installed fake gps app and it seemed to manipulate the gps nicely on maps on the phone. This leads me to believe that somehow the fsx2android app is not writing the required position to the navigation apps.

Dont really know what else to do !

Same thing here... FSx2androind 1.3 was working great apart from having the heading difference of like 20 degrees... the author basically updated the app randomly for a non working version.... I tried to look for v1.3 but I couldnt find any in the internet. I paied for this app, and in like 3 months I havent had 1 single email from the author regarding the heading problem.... Why did he updated to a non working app ???????

I think that this might be a problem as a result of changes in FIF. The MGRS coordinates to raw flight data was added in the Fly is Fun (FIF) App. The details of the latest update to that app shows this change at startup as usual. But this may also be unrelated. ???
Not sure which program you are all using but I use FIF. It is really good for my purposes, only a part of which is SIM flight. The normal GPS and external GPS modes still work well in FIF
I am hoping that they see the issue and fix it shortly. I will be a real loss not to have it and I'm not sure if there is any alternative.
I have found them to be cooperative and accepting of help or contributions from many.
Since it has been Christmas and new year I will be waiting to see what transpires in the next week or so.

No Dizz! its not a problem from within FIF! most of us are using different navigation softwares with the same problem!

its been days since this topic opened and still no support!
and they get ask why their clients get pissed after paying their hard-earnd cash and getting little to non-existent support!

Hi, I also has this problem on a Nokia 8 Sirocco running Android 8.1.
Was working great before update.
Any solution to the problem?

HI Micke,

unfortunately no solution till now! we are all still waiting to hear from the developer who just automatically updated this app without even checking to see if it worked!

As you can see, this thread has been opened for a while now and still no response from the developer! I can imagine at this point though, that the latest version of this app works with no one! This is a major bug that renders this app inoperational yet the developer hasnt even bothered to check these threads or respond to their emails as well!

I wrote him like 3 emails and yet no answers neither. Just put a 1 star in Google play to see if he notices anything. I changed my comments too in there. Too bad I bought the app only to have it inoperable due to the new update :/ I m currently flying the paramotors in p3d so I desperately need this app for the flights as I will hopefully start training this year in paramotors get and need my phone GPS app to work with p3d to practice with it...
