Hi Harry,

In your folder "GPS_ILS_VOR/PDF/2 first letters of OACI country/OACI airport", you put your VFR approch cards.pdf.

In my case, in France, St-André de l'Eure (LFFD), I have put my VAC (LFFD.pdf) in this folder:
"GPS_ILS_VOR/PDF/LF/LFFD/LFFD.pdf"

If you have several PDF, in use, FIF will ask you what PDF you want to read.

Sorry for my bad English.

Best regards, JP

PS: FIF can create your folder alone.... short tap on your airfield, then short tap on "PDF".

Hi JP,

Perfect English!!

THX mate for your "instruction"!
This kind of installation seems to be only for information
not to navigate along the pattern on max. zoom on the map.
There have to be a tool to incorporate the VACs with the
GPS datas into the maps.
Sorry, but there are apps which handle this idea!
Anyway, I like this app very much.

Cheers

Hi folks,
I cannot handle my homebase in pdf.. :(
For some ED datas (pdfs)it works really fine,
no chance to deal with my ETxx base.
Maybe the automatically directory generation .../ED/ETxx is the problem!!?
Any Idea? THX for assistance.
Greetings

Hello Harry and everyone.

I think also.

If I click, for example, on ETAD airport and then I choice PDF button, FIF generate "...GPS_ILS_VOR/PDF/ET/ETAD",
it's correct.

In your AD description, is the ICAO code correct ?

What is your ICAO AD ==> ET??

Hi JP,
in the meantime it works!
It's a bit strange, because there were two ET direcories in the trash of my tablett
directory manager ES Datei Explorer.
After getting rid of this two ETs FiF generated the ET directory automatically in
the PDF directory again??!!
But I can handle the PDF only with the reporting points before the CTR not with the
Base one!??

Anyway THX JP

Hi

This, in complement of "Viking" explanation trry to explain How I manage my VAC, as long as automatic VAC import functionality won’t be implemented in FIF (I have a dream)

Applications as
- AeroVAC http://www.v2air.fr/page3.html (works well for France VAC)
or
- Navigation http://francois.fouchet.free.fr/ (a great application on Windows PC . I used it with 27" screen for route planning). Navigation is available in English and free of charge. Go to “Starting in English” menu

Those applications are:
- Checking regularly if VACs and some other documents are up to date (at least for France)
- Importing automatically VACs on other documents, from official site
- Able creating one folder named with ICAO code for each airstrip (airport / heliport / ULM field…)
- Able putting in right folders all related PDF files VACs

For many countries, Navigation allows manual import of PDF (right click on the airport and follow import document procedure)

Exporting PDF VAC from Navigation to FIF is then quite simple
We just need following the procedure implemented in those applications for export to ANP iOS (Air Navigation Pro), FIF using almost the same structure.

If you export from Navigation, you should select
- Tools
then - Export
then - Export VACs
then - Air Nav Pro Format

Foufou Navigation is then creating a folder with X subfolders (1 per airstrip). Each subfolder containing PDF files related to the airstrip, if any.

Then the X subfolders should be grouped by countries
- All subfolders starting with ED (ex EDYX) with there PDF files could then placed in a folder called ED
- All subfolders starting with LF (ex LFXY) with there PDF files could then placed in a folder called LF
..
then those ED / LF / … folders could be transferred in one time to the Android device and FLY is FUN.

I’m doing it this way for France (automatic update via Navigation), Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Belgium…
If I put PDF files with name starting with the ICAO code in VAC folder of Navigation, they are manage and exported the way

Have fun
