GPS Altitude is not correct - it is shifted

Troubles with application

GPS Altitude is not correct - it is shifted

Postby kitercuda » 15 Apr 2012, 16:33

When flying, GPS altitude seems to be constantly shifted.

Solution:
Mobile GPS altitude can be shifted. My experience is that altitude is shift around 120 feets up.
After application start and get first GPS fix, have a look at GPS altitude. If it is shifted from correct altitude, you should adjust it. Press Menu / Alt correction and adjust it.
I adjust it usually about 120feet down. It you find that value of alttitude correction is about constant value, you can set Default altitude correction in Preferences.

In my flying field more generally 150 ft mark.
But there are two applications that have made quite the mistake of correguir cell phones,
GPS STATUS is one and the other OruxMaps, if you could correguir altitude, this application would be the best.

I am thinkin about automatic adjustment when taxiing. If you have imported elevation data, applicatrion knows correct altitude when taxiing.

Very good idea
Anyway today I tested the memorization of the altitude and I think a very good solution!
I'm in love with this application
