Virtul radar Or ADS-B?

Postby James Murphy » 05 Feb 2016, 07:41

As it looks like we all can now get an ADSB (TV USB STICK) receiver and track traffic for only a few $$$, it would make sense to integrate this into FiF!

We can very easily have a second app running, but it would be so much better if FiF could do it in a very simular way to Virtual radar.

Have to say Have been using FiF for 4 years now, and its the best thing that I have came across, and make certain that I tell everybody.

I vote for ADS-B
It would be nice having an integration with a box as the Stratux

I think Petr tested the ADS-B bit in FIF within the virtual Radar some time back. If I recall correct , the info was fed into the FIF server from a separate ADS-B server (and maybe would incur cost implications) . Most of the time the screen was much too cluttered, maybe because at that time you couldn't filter traffic you didn't want.... airliner traffic in Class A for example. Like airspace and TCAS (I have a PCAS) ...... I just want to know what may effect me, no more. It may be a good feature to have with user definable settings otherwise it just doesn't work on FIF (in my opinion) The Virtual radar works great. Everyone needs to turn it on and everyone needs to set their details up correctly so no more "unknown"s :-(

Great stuff...great forum.

Would be very awesome if virtual radar could see on a web browser.
Something like to see or to track a flight progress of a fellow pilot.

A believe the other option to track someone flight progress, would be to turn on FIF in my Android to track a friend using FIF.
The question would be how far from where I´am can see a fellow pilot.?
Or I just have to know his aproxímate location to PAN my map to where his is?
