Zomm out a bit more

If you have an idea how to improve application, post it here...

Zomm out a bit more

Postby rosdol » 21 Mar 2014, 14:29

Hi,

when you develop a route you try to visually check if the routing and sequence of waypoints is correct. To do this you would need the zoom mach farhter as is possible now in order to have the complete rout on one screen - Say from Paris to Viena.

Is ist possible to add more zoom-out levels so this can be done ??

thanks and best rgeards

It is possible, but you can see only geo map. If there will be displayyed a lot of objects (airspaces etc) device will be out of memory. So which object to hide?

Actually, I just want to see the waypoints, be it VRPs or IFR route intersections/GPS Waypoints. No other graphical features will be needed, it is just for checking the correct routing..

Hi,

Is thre a way to zoom out more than 60 nm. Perhaps it is already implemented but I can not find the way to do this.

I know the aplicaton is designed for VFR only but it also works great for IFR having the nav data base and using IFR charts on the background. But 60 NM is a bit low when you fly faster and hghier.

Having the posibility of introducing routes with the name of the airway and the exit point will also be great.

thaks

Hi
I have tried it in the past, but there were a lot of map objects and application was too slow.
Maybe I will do it, but I must think about it before implementing it.

Hi Petr,

your nav application is great and i tried it out on some flights around Austria, Cech Rep. and Germany ... very positive - I Like it!!
I still have to learn many things about it and about the best way to use it, but i'm making progress ;)

There are some issues, i will think about (if and how) to post them to you, but they are not that important.

But this topic "Zoom out a bit more" for me is one of the most important.
It depends on what is your target, when flying... When youre travelling around and make longer journeys, to zoom out
as far, that you can see the whole route, is the best way tho check out if the route is correct. Also for a general overview
it is very good to see the Area of the whole journey at once.

I would suggest 2 further zoom Levels:
150 NM / topo map Level Hi:8 Low:7 / display Topo map + route+waypoints + possibly FIS Borders
600 NM / topo map Level Hi:6 Low:5 / display just Topo map + route+waypoints

This shouldn't be too much data and would be a very helpful feature :D
-- happy landings

Good idea

If topo map lower than 7, just display just Topo map + route line/legs
