I would be interested to hear of other good working setups , particularily low cost phones and or tablets so that I could buy another device and do a semi permanent installation in my aircraft.
I have tested and used the Samsung Galaxy Note which works great (now upgraded to ICS) SO Samsung Galaxy Note gets 5 stars from me.

I'm using the app on a Samsung Galaxy S3 smart phone, and it works well. This phone has a pressure transducer, it might be useful to use the data from to set the altitude.

Motorola Xoom II Media Edition. I have installed the app on 2 of these now and also upgraded one to ICS. Both work very well. An 8 inch tab is the perfect size (and price) for an airplane and I use both my Galaxy note and the Xoom. The Note app is continually updated via Playstore but the Xoom I have to download and update manually (luckily I know when to do this from the Note updates) Now on version 7.2 this program just gets better and better.......... Thanks

I haven't found anything it doesn't work on yet, even low cost devices seem to work OK. I think I may prefer a decent phone/tablet with all the sensors to use in anger though and why would you want a crap device anyway. I tried it on a laptop which boots initially in Android OK (Although it didn't have a GPS) OK for the sim mode though. I try this prog on everyones Android I come across Regards Peter G
