ETA calculation while being on the ground

Hi

On the PlayStore, ther was an interesting question :

Is it possible to calculate the ETA of eavh WPT, before takeoff
This, order to communicate them to the control

Constraints:
- Takeoff time is known while on the parking or taxiing

If your Nav Log has a field to enter the ETD Estimated Time for Departure, there is a simple solution.

Ex using "LogNav_FR_2020-04.xls" template
LogNavFR_2020-04.xls.zip
(58.61 KiB) Downloaded 300 times

The Nav log template must be installed in the "Routes" folder, which is located in the "Templates" folder of "GPS_ILS_VOR".
The path to the customized template is then GPS_ILS_VOR -> Templates -> Routes -> LogNav_FR_2020-04.xls

In Fly Is Fun, create a nav Log using "LogNav_FR_2020-04.xls" template
- Long press on the route name
- then “Share” -> Export
- beside the file name, instead of “.gir” the internal FIF route format select “xls – Flight log”
- then save

Then, outside of FIF
- Open with spreadsheet (Excel, WPS office or the .xls lognav file that was generated
- Enter in the ETD box, whose background is orange in this template , the scheduled takeoff time hh: min
- Done, in the Nav Log the ETA are automatically calculated for each WPT…

Note : you can create and customize your own LogNav templates

Hve safe and nice flights

Indeed, printing a flight log before the flight provides detailed information.

On the other hand, instead of showing "----" for ET and ETA in the Active route details until the take-off, FIF could maybe display values estimated based on the cruise speed of the selected aircraft, assuming an immediate take-off.

This is also valid for the corresponding "Next point" and "End of route" values displayed under the map.

I put on my ToDo list. I finished AIRAC 2005 data and I need some days for doing real business :-). I will start working on update next week.
