Windy maps in FIF

Troubles with application

Windy maps in FIF

Postby frotna » 09 Nov 2019, 07:09

Hi.
Been using FIF for years and must say that it became irreplaceable peace of my flight equipment.
Thank you KITERCUDA for this amazing app...
Recently i found one interesting source of great maps.
Windy maps. There is associated app on playstore for use of these maps.
Maps are vector based, very detailed and it would be next big step if you somehow could incorporate these to be used in FIF.
Cheers from Nin, kiter city No.1 in Croatia...

You can use Windy maps - but I have no copyright. You can use MOBAC (PC application) for creating them. It is describet in user guide how.

But you must tell MOBAC, how to download this map :-). So ypu must copy XML file to folder called mapsources inside MOBAC main folder.
Here is some information, unfrotunatelly in Czech language:
https://github.com/marvertin/geokuk/wik ... C3%A9-mapy

Here is sample of the Mapy.XML file

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<customMapSource>
<name>MapyCz base-m</name>
<minZoom>5</minZoom>
<maxZoom>18</maxZoom>
<tileType>png</tileType>
<tileUpdate>IfNoneMatch</tileUpdate>
<url>http://mapserver.mapy.cz/base-m/{$z}-{$x}-{$y}.jpeg</url>
<backgroundColor>#000000</backgroundColor>
</customMapSource>
