FLY is FUN

Today, I used FIF to record a short glider towing flight, as a test for the trace recording.
After the flight, when I zoomed on the map to see the details, I was surprised to see that the trace did no scale with the map.

In the attached view, I have zoomed on the runway and it looks like my flight completely happened on a small portion of the runway.

Luckily, this bug is not observed when the trace is displayed from the flight log, but only on the trace displayed on the moving map (in flight).

I do believe that, the most important is the track registered in the logbook, and I’m glad to know, that this one is fine for you.

This the one I’m using to display a flight on the map, after the flight, an it well displayed, when the GPS is always on …
From the logbook, make a long press on a registered fly, and ask to display the track on the map to see it.


If instead "Show track on the map" you select "Sharee and them "kml" then you can show the flight on Google Earth


and eventually replay it

I am also happy that the post-flight analysis scales correctly.

Though, what I reported was really a bug, and I provided an evidence in the picture.

However, I was not able to reproduce the bug in simulation mode: the trace scales properly during the simulation as well and after the simulation.
Why did it not scale when I looked to the trace at the end of my real flight?
Or was this a sporadic bug?
I will re-test in flight.
