Elevation data: a simple backup copy is enough?

Hi

I was wondering if a simple '.ged' files copy from ElevetionData directory to an external device is enough to restore FiF terrain in case of a fresh reinstall?
Or do I have to pass again thru the painfull SRTM download and importing process??

I hope until the end of month I will make it less paintfull and data will cover more Earth surfaces...
