Barometric altitude

Merry Christmas everybody :D

Last week I have played with barometric pressure sensor. U used Samsung Galaxy S3.
Look at attached data. There are pressure from S3, counted altitude and vertical speed and info about measure time. Pressure is a little bit noisy so application has to average last measures and use averaged pressure. Data was measured at home. S3 was placed at the table.
Version 8.5 has possibilities for setting number of moeasure used for average (Menu/App settings/Preferences - Altitude settings)

My first experience:
I tested application in the lifts (cableways) in Italy mountains, from Altitude 3500 up to 10500 feet, because it was not good weather to fly with my Extra 330.
Baro altitude is more accuracy and has less delay then GPS. I noticed only one problem - I needed to use higher QNH to get correct altitude than I read on METAR (around 3 hPa more), because my S3 pressure sensor gives around 3 hPa bigger pressure than is the right value.
My friend, which has company for aircraft maintenance - aeroengine.cz has device, for calibrating altimeters and transpoders. I will try S3 in January in the laboratory, how accuracy is its baro sensor.

Cheers
Petr

P.S.
If you have any experiance with baro altitude at FLY is FUN application, please write it to this thread.

Edit:
I was at the LKMT airport. I checked pressure value of my S3 and ask at the airport QFE pressure. S3 pressure was about 3 hPa higher. In version 8.5 is possible to adjust barometric sensor correction (Menu/App settings/Preferences - Altitude settings/Pressure sensor correction. I set -3 and now altimeter works fine.

Hello.
When I tested my pressure sensor in Samsung galaxy note II, it was like, ATIS says QNH 1030, but I need to set 1028 for correct value. I think it depends on each phone. It should be correction for each phone in app.
I'm very happy to see baro data in app. That's all I was looking for.
Waiting for new update ;)

One more thing. If I'm not mistaking, the more altitude is, the app shows altitude higher than airplane altimeter.

Tried on a Samsung Galaxy note and Motorola Xoom II Both work fine. If there is any discrepancy it is small. This works as a great backup to the GPS Alt for extra safety. As a suggestion it would be good to have a quick set shortcut from the(a) "pressure alt" straight through to the QNH adjuster so that you can quickly set QNH /QFE when flying. It is difficult to choose where to put anything new on the screens as we are now spoilt for choice. Maybe another screen with just big Dialogs or a couple more smaller dialogs at the bottom, down the side(s) of the big dialog screen. (this available space is only on portraight mode though)
Another separate possible suggestion.... I have a great GMeter app which works really well on the Note. A nice addition to your app if you can fit it in...Great for your Extra 330 .... :-)
This is the best aviation app I have had the pleasure to come across. I have had a friend with an ipad (££) buy an Android just for this program.
Many thanks
