Troubles with application

no internet connection

hello when I try to download new datas fly is fun say "you are not conected on internet"
but Im connected??? any answers???

I have the same issue on both of my devices since about Oct, 5th.
i am using this app for years now, never had that problem.
Currently I use version 21.22 unlimited.
What additional informations would you like from me?

Hi Martin

Typing on Google « android apps no internet connection » allows to see that Android blocking internat access from applications is a very common problem probably

Access seem to be refused by Android and not by the application it self.

Apparently, in some case authorizations are modified (by the system it sefl? by third parties application? by the user itself?) preventing "unauthorized" connections (blocking connections)
- Connection not authorized
- Background connection not authorized
- Connection via 3G/4G networks not authorized
- ...

Having check if your device is connected on Internet, and if your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin...) you can really access Internet website, via Android system setting (not in FIF)
- You may check In Data parameters or in Network parameters if FIF is allowed using data connection, even in background?
- you may check in Application setting if FIF is allowed using data connection, even in background?
- you may erase in Application setting FIF cache

If a firewall application/antivirus application is installed on your device, you may check to that ths application is not blocking FIF

Hi Tonio,
thanks a lot, unfortunately I could not find any blocks on the settings of my phone.
Sorry, I did not check Google before. I did just now, but it wasn't helpful.
I can access internet very fine with my browser, email, telegram, NOTAM app.
In all the settings I found, FIF has all rights for data, connections, .. . There is no firewall/virus protection on the phone or the tablet.
I also can download the terrain data from "within" FIF, or have the PDFs checked.
It is just the navigation database, which cannot be updated.

Hi Martin

I’m a user as you, without waiting for Petr comments, you may try the following :


1 – Backup all your data in FIF native format

a) Logbook (.GIL)
Long press on logbook
Short press the 3 line in the upper right corner of the logbook windows
Select Export whole list in Logbook (GIL)

b) Your personal Nav database data (.GIW)
Short press on rectangle allowing selecting WPT
Long press on [..]
Select all points / folders (finger from right to left) that are outside of “World database” folder
Export as .GIW internal FIF format

c) Your routes
From the route windows
Select all routes (finger from right to left) you would like to backup
Export as .GIR internal FIF format

d) Your settings
cf bellows

Export or copy all those files outside “GPS_ILS_VOR” folder, in case off

Then I see 2 possibilities


A – Try a full factory reset of FIF

a) Short press on compass rose
b) Application setting
c) Preferences
d) General settings (from there you can backup your settings)
and
e) Then Factory default


B - if it still doesn’t works : Erase and reinstall
a) Suppress the application via the Application Manager
b) Erase the “GPS_ILS_VOR” folder

But its boring and take time


May be Petr as a better solution
Waiting for, I hope it would help you solving your problem

I have 2 tabs (Samsung Galaxy S3 + Asus Zenpad) and 2 phone (Huawei P9 + Nokia 6) running various version of Android 6, 7 or 8
and its work on all of them

ok,
on my mobile, I renamed the folder with the datas, deinstalled FIF and did a new install, now it works.
I will play around and test, whether I can copy my datas back in the new folder.

It is annoying, but without update for the navi files the app is quite useless.

Still I have no idea what might have caused this problem.

oooh,
things can be so easy, if you arn't stupid:
somehow I missed the reminder for the app-update.
But it helped, on my tablet I just installed the new update and everything works fine.
