Nope!
Galaxy Note II - Android 4.1.2.
I can see both volume slider AND shutdown window at the same time but nothing that should resemble a screenshot window.
Tried both down+power and up+power.

Ok, it works on my LG Optimus G, Android 4.1.2
But I asked google this "galaxy note 2 screenshot"

And first hit gives:
HOLD down the POWER button and the HOME button at the same time.

Just for information to other users: I tested the sreenshot keystroke combo on Galaxy Note I - Android 2.3.6 and it also worked.
